The club sent 7 gymnasts down to this year’s Pegasus Open for a competition that featured a number of high standard routines. For some of the gymnasts their competition in The Open was a big step up from competing at the Development Open last year.
Our club was represented in the under 14 competition at the Pegasus Open today by Jacob Mairs-McKenzie, Camron Connelly and Nathan Todosjiczuk. Jacob did a great job finishing in 7th All Around with 60.350 and took silver on Floor, 4th on Parallel Bars, and 6th on Vault and High Bar. Nathan, who was competing without landings due to an injury scored 36.900 from 4 apparatus. Camron, performing in his first ever Pegasus Open was 15th All Around and a credible 9th on rings.
The under 12 boys performed extremely well. Jed Solomon, Owen Craig, Jake Manion, and Daniel Cockx all demonstrated an excellent attitude and put in lots of good performances, winning several medals and gaining lots of top 10 positions. Despite competing harder routines than last year they didn’t falter to as they worked hard through the competition.
Jed Solomon finished in 2nd place All Around with 69.800 points and takes home 4 individual medals: –
Gold – Pommels
Silver – Rings & Parallel Bars
Bronze – Vault
Owen Craig finished in a fantastic 8th All Around and took Bronze on Pommels, 6th on rings
Jake Manion competed strongly and his 11th place finish, plus 4th on vault and 6th on Pommel was recognition of this.
Daniel Cockx did himself proud with a clean competition and 13th place All Around, and 8th on Rings, Parallel Bars and High Bar.
