Answers to some of the most common questions we get asked about CMIG.

How do I get my child into CMIG? 2017-12-11T08:14:22+00:00

You can get in touch with us by using the details on our Contact Us page.

Let us know which days are preferred, and we will try to find a suitable class for you and your child.

If we do not have a space in a class for an immediate start, we will take your contact details and add you to our notification list, to inform you when we have available spaces.

We don’t operate a waiting list as such.

When spaces become available, which tends to be at the end of each 8 week block, we send a text out, to everyone who’s enquired about a space, with details of what days we have available.

The spaces are then given out to those who respond to the message, on a first come, first served basis

We’re based in Gorton behind the large Tesco store, next to the library. Our postcode is M18 8HE.

There’s parking at the side of the centre, and there’s a large car park at the rear of the library.

There’s also plenty of available parking at the Tesco store across the road from the centre.

Does my child have to be a member in order to do gymnastics? 2017-11-30T11:17:40+00:00

Yes. Before they can enter a class, your child must be registered as a member of our club and British Gymnastics.

How much does membership cost? 2017-12-11T12:13:43+00:00

Membership of CMIG costs £25.00. Membership must be paid prior to participation in class sessions. More information on class fees is available on our Timetables & Booking page.

What is included in the membership fee? 2017-12-11T11:17:30+00:00

Our annual membership fee gives you membership to our club and British Gymnastics from September to August of each year.

This is renewable every September, and is paid directly to our club when booking your child’s class for the first time or for the new gymnastics’ year.

How can I make payments? 2017-12-11T12:03:22+00:00

Payments (for fees & membership etc) should be made in cash or cheque please – we do not have a card facility at the club.

If you need it, there is a cash machine located at the Tesco store across the road.

What should my child wear in class? 2018-08-20T16:35:49+00:00

We recommend that children wear shorts and a t-shirt.

If your child owns a gymnastics leotard (i.e a leotard without a skirt attached), this would be ideal but it is not necessary to participate in a class.

Do I need to stay with my child? 2017-12-11T09:53:46+00:00

If your child is in one of our Foundation classes, we strongly recommend that you stay and watch your child.

If your child is in one of our Advanced, High Flyers or Top Flyers classes, then you can leave your child once they’re in class. Or you can watch from our reception area, and enjoy a hot drink and snack while you wait.

Should you leave the premises, you must return to the centre at least 10 minutes before the end of your child’s session.

No child is allowed to leave the centre without a parent or guardian.

Can a child do only one class per week? 2017-12-11T12:08:58+00:00

We recommend that your child starts with one class a week, to see how they get on in class.

Then, if your child wants to do another class, you can enquire at the reception desk and we will try to find another day and time that’s suitable for you.

Each additional class, after the first one, includes a 25% discount on the 8 week block fee.

What happens if I can’t make it to a class? 2017-12-11T10:32:40+00:00

Should you be unable to attend a class within the block and you know this in advance, please let Reception know.

Please note that the class fee is non-refundable.

How do I secure my child’s place for the next block of classes? 2017-11-30T11:19:01+00:00

To secure your child’s current place on the class register, you will need to re-book before the end of class on Week 7 of the block.

Any spaces not registered by this time will be offered to people on our waiting list – you will lose your place in the next block of classes.

When is priority rebooking? 2017-12-11T10:42:59+00:00

Priority rebooking falls on week 6 and 7 of each block.

You can pay the fees on either of these two weeks to secure your child’s space for the following block.

If you’re unsure when the rebooking period is, you can pick up a copy of our calendar from Reception.

What happens if I miss priority rebooking? 2017-12-11T11:12:17+00:00

If you do not rebook before the end of your child’s class on week 7, we will not be able to guarantee your child’s space for the following block.

If you miss the priority rebooking period, we recommend that you contact us so that we can check whether their current class has any availability.

If there isn’t, we can try to find them a different class. You would then need to come and make payment asap to secure their space.

How do I rebook my child’s class for the new gymnastics year? 2017-11-30T11:18:12+00:00

To rebook your child’s classes for the new gymnastic year, please complete the Recreational Membership Form and hand it in to Reception together with the relevant class fees.

Do you offer classes for adults? 2018-02-01T18:57:01+00:00

All of our classes are for children, we do not run any sessions for adults.
